The Team

Scott is the President of SSBA professional security consultants as well as its founder.  Continuing with over 32 years of police, public safety and security management work, his passion for the industry is well known.  Having represented contract security firms on both East and West Coasts, states North and South including Hawaii and Canada, he is well situated to provide you with seasoned counsel.  His experience includes being an entrepreneur in start up security firms, operations manager, state business development manager, regional manager, vice president and several president tenures.  Years ago, mergers and acquisitions became one of Scott's primary functions as he successfully negotiated deals throughout the U.S.  Scott holds many law enforcement training certifications and security credentials.  He is a Master Police Instructor, certifying police, sheriff and federal officers on programs here in the U.S.  Scott lectures client groups, contract security teams and testifies before city and state boards and commissions.  An expert on contract security solutions, policy and procedure, he's published numerous articles, manuals and company handbooks.  Scott was a senior member of IAHSS, multiple past chapter chairman for ASIS and member of CALSAGA.          

John is our independent expert on all security systems, integration and enterprise wide projects.  John's impressive background includes many years as a California Peace Officer, Police Academy Director and Senior executive with security and alarm system companies.   He also taught at local colleges and most recently traveled worldwide for Apple, Facebook and Uber designing,  managing and installing security systems.  John has been a Mayor, Councilman and served on numerous state boards in public safety.  

Teresa Larkin is a longstanding former CAO of one of the largest regional contract security firms in the country.  She holds a JD of law as well as numerous credentials in human resource management.  She is well versed in employee relations, workers compensation reduction programs, fraud detection and prevention, lawsuit and class action defense as well as legal/ethical/moral business policy and procedure.  Teresa lectures and provides formal training programs for various types of businesses.  Teresa is also a certified fraud examiner.      

Gail Tutt performs all fiscal review and forensic accounting for SSBA.  She is and has been an accomplished corporate controller for large silicon valley security firms.  Ms. Tutt excels at standardizing chaotic or disparate financials.  She also is a proven expert at locating sources of financial drain and effecting appropriate resolutions.     

Dan is our independent subject matter expert on cyber security and all things computer driven.  Dan most recently managed large complex cyber integration projects for companies such as Hawaiian Air, Simplex Grinell and Ala Moana Shopping Center in Hawaii.  For many years, Dan was the IT manager for large contract security firms in California.
